InstaOffice Startup Pitch Grind

What a beginning for InstaOffice in Bengaluru! InstaOffice just launched 2 centres in Bengaluru in the heart of the city – Indiranagar, and to announce our arrival we called over industry experts and senior entrepreneurs to take part in our Startup Roast. In fact, with the current discussions of agreements and disagreements between founders and investors, we decided to let the startup world get a sneak-peek into what really happens during a board room discussion.
Our goal was to bring together brilliant minded people, to pitch products that are focused on solutions. But moreover, we always aim to foster learning, inspiration and curiosity – and provoke debates that matter.

Out of more than 50 startups who applied we selected 7 of them to pitch to our esteemed jury. The startups ranged from F&B to Fintech to online retain – you name it, we’ve got it. Finalists included Mcaffeine, Cookify, Doctors Circle, Playo, Multibhashi, Voyage Up and Namaste Credit.
Each startup pitched for around 5 minutes, after which we opened the floor for questions from audience and jury – and it was quite something! Jury panel consisted of the following people:
- Raghav Bahl – VP at Bessemer Venture Capital
- Rohit Jain – Co founder at Pravega Ventures
- Payal Shah – leads early stage startup funding at Axilor
- Ashish Agarwal – VP at Sequoia Capital
- Prateek – AVP at Saif Partners
- Vishesh Rajaram – Managing Partner at Speciale Incept Advisors
The Pitch Roast brought with itself a certain sense of competition. A certain rush filled the space as we progressed from one startup to the other (We DO NOT exaggerate). The jury asked questions about everything starting with traction, the feasibility, the reach and sustainabilty.
Satish Chakeela from Doctors Circle who won the Pitch Roast quoted, “I have pitched for about 50 startup pitch competitions so far, and this one was a major test – the jury panel was one the most influential in the industry and competition was extremely high. We are striving to be the Google for health and every feedback helps us in building our vision a 100 times stronger.“
InstaOffice was never the one to shy away from controversial topics – working out of the happiest coworking space makes it possible for us to stay updated about the latest Startup news as well. Last month, all conversations streamed to relationship between Investors and Entrepreneurs post funding. Who has the final call? We decided to call in Investors and founders to give us a preview of what goes on behind the scenes in a Board Room Meeting.

The Pitch Roast was followed by Board Room Sneak Peak – Relationship between Investors and Founders post funding, with a panel consisting of Parag Dhol (Managing Director at Inventus), Vinayak Burman (Founder Partner at Vertices Partners), GV Ravishankar (Investment Advisor, Sequoia) , Sumit Jain (CEO and Co-founder at CommonFloor and Akhil Gupta (Founder at NoBroker).
We brought passion and experience under one roof, and the result was learning – for everyone and from everyone.
